Hank Williams Jr. (1983, 92-93, 95-97, 99, 2001) will be honored Nov. 11 in Nashville, Tenn., at the BMI awards ceremony as music industry icon.
Known to some as “Bocephus,” a nickname the legendary Hank Williams Sr. gave him, Williams has had six platinum albums and 20 that were certified gold. The man who wrote and performed the theme song “Monday Night Football” has recorded hit songs including “Family Tradition,” “Country Boy Can Survive” and “All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down.”
Williams, 59, joins past Broadcast Music Inc. honorees Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, James Brown, the Bee Gees and Isaac Hayes. |

Four Texas A&M University students earning MBA degrees are researching Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo parking options and transportation needs as part of their course of study. The students are looking at the cost effectiveness of the current shuttle system and will gather information on customer satisfaction to study options in transportation changes.
These students will present their findings to the Show in December.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is a proud partner of the Houston es Música Host Committee of the 9th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards.
The event features several of the hottest local Latin entertainers performing free in a Music in the Park Concert Festival. Today, the first concert was featured, and concerts will continue Oct. 12, 19 and 26 at various parks around the city. On Nov. 2 at Reliant Park, a fan fest will be held to celebrate the spirit, diversity and artistic achievement of Latin music with live music, food and other activities. Houston es Musica ends Nov. 13 with the 9th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards.
